As the 2024/25 financial year comes to a close, we’re taking a moment to look back on what’s been a huge year of growth, challenges, and milestones for us here at Stronghold Hire. With hundreds of successful projects behind us and plenty more in the pipeline, we’re proud to share some key highlights from the past 12 months.
Project Highlights
This year, we successfully completed 746 projects across Sydney and beyond — our busiest year to date! While we didn’t have one standout site, we did notice a significant rise in demand for engineered scaffold designs, a reflection of increasingly complex site requirements and the industry’s push for greater compliance and safety. These projects challenged us to continue innovating and refining our approach.
Top Equipment Hires
Our most in-demand gear this financial year included:
- Kwikstage scaffold and aluminium towers – 65%
- Edge protection systems – 25%
- Shrink wrap containment – 7%
- Rubbish chutes – 3%
One clear trend was the spike in edge protection hire largely driven by increased online visibility and stricter safety regulations around solar panel installations. Shrink wrap also saw increased interest, particularly during wetter periods where weather protection became essential.
Team Growth & Milestones
Behind every successful job is a solid team — and this year, our crew delivered in a big way.
- We consistently had 70+ active jobs on hire at any given time.
- We expanded our vehicle fleet, adding 1 new truck and 2 new utes to boost response times and service capacity.
- We invested in an additional 100 tonnes of steel scaffold, giving us the stock levels needed to meet rising demand.
- More custom brackets were introduced for our edge protection systems, increasing our flexibility across roof types and installation methods.
- Several team members earned their MR truck licences and completed forklift certifications, ensuring our workforce remains trained, compliant, and capable.
- We also saw the successful launch of the Edge Protection Hire website, helping this division grow into a more specialised, visible offering.
Challenges & Wins
Like most in the construction sector, we faced our fair share of pressure — tight deadlines, last-minute requests and logistically difficult sites. The biggest ongoing challenge? Turning scaffold quotes into completed installs in incredibly short timeframes. But our crew met the moment. Through teamwork, smart scheduling and a commitment to getting the job done, we consistently delivered.
Looking Ahead
The year ahead is all about capacity building. Our goals for 2025/26 include:
- Increasing our stock levels and yard staff to take on even more work
- Further reducing turnaround times from quote to install
- Continuing to grow the Edge Protection arm of the business
- Investing in training, tools, and vehicles to stay ahead of demand
Thank You to Our Clients & Partners
